Discover the FEMTO-ST team behind Syrah-Lab !

SYRAH-lab brings together multidisciplinary expertise in clean room technologies, integrated photonics, sensors, and microwaves, both for design, manufacturing, characterization and packaging.

On the FEMTO-ST site, the people mainly involved are five in number, and interact strongly with the experts of the MIMENTO technological platform for all technological developments, and with the mechanical and electronic services of FEMTO-ST for the micro-aspects. waves and packaging.

The most heavily involved are listed below:

ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ  ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ

Nadege Courjal

TEACHER-RESEARCHER

Specialization: integrated photonics, electro-optical components, LiNbO3

Role in the project: Coordinator

Nadège Courjal obtained her doctorate in engineering sciences at the University of Besançon in 2002. She was recruited as a lecturer at the Higher Institute of Engineers of Franche-Comté (ISIFC) in 2004. She leads activities on electro-optical micro and nanosystems at the Optics department of the FEMTO-ST institute. His field of research encompasses hybrid photonic systems, lithium-niobate-based components and associated applications, in the detection of electromagnetic fields, biomedical, telecommunications and astronomy.

N. Courjal has led several innovation projects associated with industry, funded by SATT-SAYENS, BPI, DGA or ANR. She is involved in promoting photonics innovation in Europe, as technology platform manager in the ActPhast4.0, ActpHast4R and Photonhub networks.

Since 2020, she has been leading the joint SYRAH-lab laboratory, in partnership with Kapteos®, to develop integrated electro-optical sensors.

Miguel Angel Suarez Sanabria

RESEARCH ENGINEER

Specialization: Instrumentation, clean room processes and optical characterization

Role in the project: Design and production of sensor encapsulation, automation of characterization and alignment systems

With a master's degree in physics from the universidad industrial de Sanatder, Bucaramanga, Colombia, Miguel Angel SUAREZ SANABRIA obtained his doctorate in 2006 from the University of Franche Comté on the development of a functionalized tip for the near-field optical microscope.

After a post-doctorate at the Optics Department of the FEMTO-ST Institute in Besançon from 2006 to 2008 on the development of a 3D localization system with subvoxel resolution, then at the ENISE in Saint-Etienne, he carried out a post-doctorate at the central school of Lyon from 2011 to 2013 on the programming of a micro-indenter for the study of the mechanical properties of the skin, and is a temporary teacher in parallel.

In 2014, he was hired as a research engineer at Expertise Vision, in Thiez.

Since 2015, he has been a research engineer in scientific instrumentation at the FEMTO-ST institute. As part of SYRAH-lab, he automates the characterization of sensors and develops packaging.

Antoine Coste

DEDICATED RESEARCH ENGINEER AT SYRAH-LAB

Specialization: Modeling, fabrication and characterization of electro-optical components

Role in the project: Project manager: organization of production and characterization actions, quality monitoring of components

A graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon in 2015, Antoine Coste obtained the master's degree in nanosciences in nanophysics from the University of Paris-Saclay in 2016. As part of his doctorate obtained in 2019 at the University of Paris-Saclay, he worked on the emission properties of colloidal quantum dots via the establishment of collective effects and via their couplings with plasmonic structures.

He joined the FEMTO-ST institute in 2020 as a project manager research engineer for the labcom SYRAH-Lab. He participates in the development of electromagnetic field sensors in lithium niobate with the company Kapteos SAS.
