High-Resolution Subpixelic Pose Determination Library

Introduction

Vernier Library is a C++ image processing code that allows to measure poses of periodic patterns with a phase based method allowing sub pixel resolutions. It can process different types of patterns for wide range of applications.

Library overview

The library is composed of two main complementary branches which are:

  • Pattern detection (pose measurement)
  • Pattern generation (image rendering, layout exporting)

Four types of patterns are available in both branches.

A touch of history

This library is named after the mathematician and inventor Pierre Vernier who was born in Ornans, Franche-Comté, France. He was inventor and eponym of the vernier scale which increases the resolution of measuring devices like calipers and inspired us.
